Infant Heel Incision Device
Helena's premier line of infant heel incision devices, HemoHeel and HemoHeel Preemie, are now self-actuating, eliminating tech-to-tech variability in the amount of pressure being applied to the heel. The new all-in-one devices offer better control, trajectory and handling. Both provide excellent blood flow, with minimal pain and bruising and less risk of injury to the infant.
Unlike traditional lancets, HemoHeel and HemoHeel Preemie slice the skin horizontally, rather than puncturing vertically. Puncturing techniques can cause injury to cartilage or bone. HemoHeel provides a standardized incision 2.5 mm long by 1 mm deep for routine blood sampling. HemoHeel Preemie makes an even shallower incision, 1.75 mm long by 0.85 mm deep.
Unlike other premium heel incision devices, HemoHeel and HemoHeel Preemie are so affordable they can be used routinely, not just for special circumstances. That's good news for you, and for your babies.
