Over one hundred individual proteins have been identified in serum, each with a specific set of functions and specific variations in concentration under different pathologic conditions. While some laboratorians prefer classic 5-banded separations, others prefer split-beta. Both are available on the QuickGel system, providing crisp, clear separation of the protein fractions. QuickGel Split-Beta gels separate the proteins by the classic electrophoresis zones, albumin, alpha 1, alpha 2, beta and gamma with the proteins migrating in the beta region split into two fractions,-Beta 1 and-Beta 2, between transferrin and C3 complement. In some instances, this may allow easier detection of small beta-migrating monoclonal gammopathies. QuickGel SPE proteins kits are packaged for use with serum; additional supplies and accessories are available for use with CSF and urine samples.
|3550||QuickGel Split-Beta SPE Kit||10 x 10/20 samples|
|3550T||QuickGel Split-Beta SPE Kit - Template||10 x 10/20 samples|
Kits include: 10-QuickGel Split-Beta SPE Gels, Acid Blue Stain, QuickGel Blotters, Citric Acid Destain, 10 Modified Applicator Blades or Templates.
|3426||Accessory Kit||10 templates and blotters|
These accessories are used in conjunction with the QuickGel Split-Beta and Classic SPE kits for CSF and urine samples. They may also be used to apply serum samples with either template or applicator blade style kits.
The QuickGel Chamber features a cooled electrophoresis platen and built-in carbon electrodes. The cooled platen prevents protein degradation and provides crisp separations. Just set a QuickGel in place and close the lid to begin electrophoresis.
The QuickGel Chamber also serves as a dryer by simply changing out the lid and has a tiny 8.5" x 10.5" footprint.

Additional Supplies for QuickGel Split-Beta and SPE Procedures:-SPE Normal (Cat. No. 3424), SPE Abnormal (Cat. No. 3425),-
|3424||SPE Normal Control|
|3425||SPE Abnormal Control|
These lyophilized controls are prepared from pooled human serum and are for use with the QuickGel Split-Beta SPE kit listed above. Reconstituted controls are stable 5 days stored at 2- to 8- C. Each control is assayed for total protein, albumin, alpha 1, alpha 2, beta and gamma globulins.
The QuickGel Chamber and Titan Plus Power Supply are designed for cost-effective separations with QuickGels. QuickGel electrophoresis products are compact and easy-to-use, allowing cost-effective manual separation without sacrificing quality or accuracy.
